What is saint cyrian soldier?

Saint Cyrian was a soldier in the Roman Army who later became a Christian and a bishop. He was born in the 3rd century AD and served as a member of the imperial guard under Emperor Diocletian. After witnessing the torture and martyrdom of Christians, he converted to Christianity along with his fellow soldier Saint Justina.

Following his conversion, Cyrian left the army and dedicated his life to spreading the teachings of Christianity. He was ordained a priest and later became the bishop of Philippi in Thrace. During his time as bishop, he worked to combat heresies within the Church and offered support to those being persecuted for their faith.

Saint Cyrian is remembered as a martyr for the Christian faith. He was arrested and tortured under the persecution of Emperor Decius in 304 AD, ultimately being beheaded for his refusal to renounce his faith. His feast day is celebrated on October 8th in the Roman Catholic Church, and he is venerated as a patron saint of Thessalonica and other cities.
